Alaska: Skagway

Our third day in port brought us to the charming town of Skagway.

Here, we booked a smaller tour up the Klondike Highway through Frontier Excursions. We'd had our fill of train rides from Anchorage so we'd agreed that an air conditioned bus was much more our liking. I also wanted to book the smaller bus tour because it offered tons of opportunities to stop and take pictures whereas the train ride didn't.

The tour picked up at each cruise ship peer but we decided to meet at the office in town which was just a short three minute walk. We were then taken to the bus where we met our tour guide and got settled (unfortunately we had quite the "laugher" sitting next to us). No joke, EVERYTHING was funny to this person.

We saw lots of waterfalls!

Back in town we got to see the salmon making their way upriver to their spawning grounds!

I also tried crab legs for the first time!

Below was the famous "red light" saloon

Before getting back on the ship we saw some visitors in the bay!
